WF Pride: Positive Attitude and Passion for Life and Work

Walther Farms Positive Attitude and Passion for Life and Work

I’ve had the fortunate opportunity to visit a number of 3rd world countries in the last ten years via mission trips, vacations and work.  What I’ve seen and experienced in each country is a genuine happiness and contentment.  The people I’ve spoken with and interacted with have nothing materially, but are always smiling, friendly and passionate about life.  The days seem to be slower as the people are always hospitable and welcoming.  It’s a refreshing contrast to what I see and experience here in the states.

We live in the richest and most bountiful country in the world and are blessed beyond compare.  Yet, in spite of all we have, people do not appear to be happy.  Our race for materialism has not brought us happiness.  We are a like a hamster on wheel trying to get off by spinning faster and faster, only getting nothing but angry.  Complaining, gripping and criticizing everyone and everything has become the norm.  Just look at the current election system and how ugly it has become.  Maybe instead of hoping these other countries would become like us, I think we would all be much better off if we became more like them.

Having a positive attitude and passion in life is a choice – a daily choice.  We can choose to do it our own way, as unhappy, critical, angry individuals running on the wheel of life going nowhere.  Or we can choose to follow God’s instructions for our lives and be joyful, renewing our thoughts and attitudes, and making allowances for other’s faults.  No one said it’s going to be easy.  The choice is yours.   I choose to follow God.

For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17

Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Ephesians 4:23

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:13

“Dear Lord, help us to choose you and your instructions for our life.  Help us be positive, passionate people who draw others to you.  Help us be content and satisfied with you alone.  Forgive us for getting caught up in the rat race of life.  It’s in the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.”
