Walther Farms is seeking an Irrigation Technician for our Three Rivers location. The Irrigation Technician has significant autonomy and requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude, superior relational skills and agricultural experience. This position will be accountable to efficiently manage all aspects of irrigation operations, maintain excellent vendor relations ensuring that service and repairs are completed in a timely manner and support the production team and operations throughout the year.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Service center pivots in season to ensure proper and timely watering is occurring
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance in the off season
  • Work with vendors to schedule pivot inspections and ensure that they are completed
  • Order and organize irrigation parts inventory
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed during irrigation season

 Required Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrated strong work-ethic
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with center pivot irrigation programs
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating electronic devices as they relate to irrigation telemetry control
  • Electrical knowledge sufficient to troubleshoot and repair center pivot irrigation and chemigation equipment
  • Willingness to assist other farm teams for extended hours as required for planting and harvest
  • Ability to acquire and hold a valid US driver’s license and successfully pass a background check and drug screen
  • Ability to comprehend, read, write and communicate proficiently in English and interact with all levels of the organization


Preferred Position Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree in an Ag related field
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • 5+ years’ experience managing irrigation
