The opportunity to work as an intern for Walther Farms has been amazing to say the least. I started off with very limited knowledge of the agricultural world and the processes within it. I have gained an appreciation that will last a lifetime. I sought out an internship with Walther Farms to gain experience on the financial side of the business and have wound up learning so much more. Walther Farms is a perfect example of what happens when you put your people first. The workplace culture that is apparent throughout the company is one of my favorite aspects of working here. With hard working people, the ability to openly ask questions, paired with an open-door policy makes for an amazing work atmosphere.
Flexibility along with resource availability has provided a great learning experience, while also giving me the tools needed to succeed within my role and grow as a person. Having the ability go out in a potato field and see every aspect from harvesting to shipping has helped me grasp the bigger picture. One thing is for sure, I’ll never look at a bag of potato chips the same. I appreciate all the people that have helped make my internship at Walther Farms memorable and I’m looking forward to what the future holds.
