Getting the opportunity to come work for Walther Farms has been one of the greatest experiences I’ve had in a long time. There are many reasons this was a great internship but no doubt one of the main reasons is the people I’ve worked with everyday on the job. Every last person I’ve met on either farm has been not only knowledgeable on every aspect of farming potatoes but willing to answer any questions I may have had. Being able to see both sides of the Georgia farm and Indiana farm has helped me see the bigger picture into what all goes into running and operating a potato farm, as well as giving me the chance to meet and connect with so many of the great people who keep these farms going. Overall this internship has turned out to be much more than I had expected but in the best way possible from being able to learn and communicate with the best in the business.
